• Transformers: Dark of the Moon Concept Art by Wesley Burt

Concept Artist and Illustrator Wesley Burt has shared some concept art he developed for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Wesley worked on a number of different things throughout the pre-production phase of the film, focusing on generating early visual ideas with the direction of Michael Bay and production designer Nigel Phelps. The concept art shows a variety of ideas, different directions, and solutions that were experimented with for elements of the story that were coming together at the same time. 1. Optimus’ cargo container raingun and armor has to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen out of the transformer’s universe. Looks likes it was a hell of a fun assignment. “Hey Wes, today, I want you to redesign Optimus Prime.” – his boss.

  2. I just love them all, and hopefully can appear in the future transformers’ movies, let’s make another 25 glorious years !!!

  3. Wow..these are so awesome! Love them all… Wish these actually appear in the final film!

  4. what does “WIP” mean lol i love this tho i hate how some of this epic stuff never made it in the movie

  5. “WIP” means “Work in Progress”. They put it on stuff so people know it’s not the finalised product, just something that came up on the way through.

I do prefer the Lazerbeak designs with the more integrated eyes, didn’t like the baby pidgeon head he had in the movie. The “Steeljaw” concept is pretty neat though.

  6. Let us se which concepts will make it to the movie…
    Great images!
