Director and writer Brent Sims was kind enough to share some of the concept artwork for his upcoming live-action short film, Anne Dark. The artwork shown below was created by talented artists Lenka Simeckova and Anton Semenov.
Anne Dark tells the story of a teen with dark superpowers who must battle her way through three mystical gates, guarded by the forces of darkness, in order to save the world and enact revenge for her sister’s death. Writer/Director, Brent Sims, is heavily influenced by sci-fi, fantasy, and horror genres from the 80s like The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Blade Runner, The Last Starfighter, Dune, The Thing, The Neverending Story, and that little film known as The Empire Strikes Back. Sims loved the practicalities of 80s storytelling which he believes felt pure and original. He hopes to bring the right mix of practical and digital effects, coupled with solid storytelling, will inspire audiences and take them to worlds uncharted by the human imagination.
Brent Sims also created the short film, Grave Shivers, which was programmed at over 37 film festivals and took home Los Angeles’ H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival audience award in 2015. Be sure to visit the Anne Dark Kickstarter Page to support this project.
