Concept Artist George Hull was kind enough to share some of the concept art that he created for Elysium. Hull was brought in to help design some of the large scale environments for the film. Even though he was currently about to start working on the film Jupiter Ascending, he jumped at the chance to work with director Neill Blomkamp once again. Hull used the great artwork by Syd Mead and the Weta crew as inspiration to create concepts for the sub strata/cavernous environments, the robot factory, and the deportation bay. His sketches were then used by Kent Matheson and his team at Image Engine as a starting point to develop the final models and VFX shots.
