Weta Workshop has released The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Chronicles: Art & Design, the third book in The Hobbit: Chronicles series. This 224 page book explores the design process and development of the environments, cultures, creatures and artifacts with over 1,000 images of concept art, photographs and commentary provided by the film’s cast and crew.
This volume was compiled by Weta Workshop senior concept designer Daniel Falconer and created in full collaboration with key members of the production’s creative team such as concept art directors Alan Lee and John Howe.
